Why I created Sparkles of Joy

Hi, I’m Aisha Preece.

I created Sparkles of Joy because, quite frankly, I was feeling a bit fed up with the constant go-go-go pace of modern life.

After running a successful online business for over 8 years, I felt incredibly grateful for everything it had given me. But I also found myself craving something different.

(For me, doomscrolling Instagram at 3am is usually the first warning sign that something needs to change.)

I didn’t want a new career. My current business is great and still brings me a lot of joy. I’m a blogger, and I genuinely love what I do.

But I felt like something was missing.

For years, I believed my worth came from being productive.

But after becoming a mother, navigating burnout, and going through seasons where I simply couldn’t do as much as I used to, I realized my self-worth couldn’t be tied to my output.

So I decided to get curious and I started doing things purely for the joy of it.

Not because it could be profitable or become something useful.

I did it, just because they made me happy.

I started growing herbs. I started a running group for women who don’t particularly enjoy running. I wrote letters. I slowed down.

And somewhere along the way, Sparkles of Joy was born.

This little snail mail club combines two of my greatest loves: writing and gift-giving.

You know those love language quizzes? (Google it if you haven’t done one.) Gift-giving and words of affirmation are my top two.

I get to write to you, remind you how wonderful you are, and tuck little surprises into your envelope each month. Everybody wins!

Every month, I send a thoughtfully curated envelope filled with tiny joys: a personal letter, stickers, journal prompts, playlists, paper treasures, and a few surprises designed to brighten your day.

My hope is that when you open your envelope, you feel a little happier.

Maybe a little lighter and more inspired?

And perhaps reminded that life is full of beauty, color, wonder, and joy.

The best part?

You don’t need to catch a plane to a far-flung corner of the world to find it.

Sometimes joy is waiting in a cup of tea, a new book, a tiny herb growing on your windowsill, a handwritten letter, or a surprise in your mailbox.

Sparkles of Joy is simply a reminder to notice those moments.
